2009 Torrent Roof Rack

I have a 2009 Pontiac Torrent and I am new to this site. I am wanting to make it look like the GXP version with no roof rack or luggage rack whatever you want to call it.

Has anyone done this that can explain how to go about doing it as well as any parts needed?

Yes, how do I remove them and is there anything I would have to buy to cover the channel where they are removed from?

try going to this site www.gmpartsdirect.com and after selecting parts catalog and your vehicle look at the diagrams under the Roof section.
