Hey everyone just got a conv 67 firebird from my dad it has a 326 in it. My manager at work is talking crap on it!!! So my question it what if I do the following?
It has forged internal
Turbo 350 trans
And this is what I wanna do and if anyone can give me a estimate 1/4 time or hp/tq
Aluminum intake
274h comp cam kit
2inch headers
Switch to electric fan
fully built rear with 4.10 pos
3500 stall converter
Drag radials
Do u think that will shut his automatic 4.6 up for good?

1. first of all what kind of car is an automatic 4.6?
2. why switch to electric fan, minimal horsepower increase
3. 2 inch headers are rather large for a 326
4 do you intend to do any highway driving, 4.10 is not very practical other than on a track
5. 3500 stall converter is also not too cool for anything other than track
6. why do you think a 67 326 came with forged internals, they are cast.

We rebuilt it a while back and if u think that's to big of headers id go smaller 1.25? And yes its just for track / local driving nothing over 50 we have a trailer. And the mustang is a 4.6 auto I think its an 05 stock. Do u think ill see good 1/4 times I'm not expecting 10s or 11s.id be ok with 13s

have you looked at www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com and seen what header sizes are actually made for your application? From what I can tell from these sites your best bet would be about 1 5/8".Have you checked comp cams if that is the right cam for your application?

I have to call them and verify but from what jegs says the website its right and that's where I saw that 274h kit. But I know that there's not a lot out there for the 326 so I'm praying I can get some minor things.

are you referring to the XE274H part number 51-224-4? It has an RPM range of 1800 to 6000. Is your 326 going to rev to 6000? what heads do you have? what compression are you running?
I dowwloaded competition cams cam selector and horsepower program. Guessing at some of the things on you car with the XE274H cam it produces 330 gross horsepower. You should download it and try with your knowledge of what is in your car to see what they recommend.
