3800Sc serie 3 Pontiac Grand Am 2001 GT

I'm looking into swapping a 3800SC Series 3 on my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT. I'd like to know how complicated it would be? Would it be possible? What transmission would be most recommended (I want to change to manual) maybe a T56?

What is the most important thing I should keep in mind? Any advice would be helpful, I am not an expert.

T56 is not designed for a front wheel drive vehicle.
A Getrag F23 was the available 5 speed
You would need complete wire harnesses and ECM.
