3rd Gen Firebird Ram Air hoods?

I recently bought a Trans Am with a Ram Air hood on it. I noticed that the hood is a little warped. I heard that fiberglass hoods warp easily, and when painted, heat can make the hood expand and crack the paint! Is all this true? And if so, is there anywhere I can buy an SMC or metal Ram Air hood for a 3rd Gen Firebird?
 
Considering corvettes have had fiberglass hoods and large heat producing engines, 427 and 454 big blocks, for many years you are being misled.
