400 engine identification

I have an extra 400 pontiac engine I am trying to identify. The date code on the block says k191 which should be November 19, 1971. But the other number in the block is 9799914 which is 1970 ram air 3. can anyone explain why these numbers conflict? Thanks

that casting number was used on many engines and could be a service replacement block. You need to see if the two digit alpha code is there to figure out what it is.
