428#62 heads

Hi, I was just wanting to get some advice frome you knowledgable folks. There is a 78 Trans AM on ebay I'm eyeing, they say its a w 72 but they've put 428#62 heads on the 400. Just wondering if this would be a good or bad thing. Sounds like the motor is pretty much stock except for the heads and exhaust being 2.5 magnaflow duals. Just curious if these heads would really make the car run much better without the rest of the enginge being built and also if it would still run decent on pump gas. Thanks for any help.

If I looked it up correctly the original heads had combustion chambers measuring 101cc, the #62 heads have a size of 72cc, thats a big jump in compression ratio. It is a premium gas only engine, 93 octane.

Thanks for the reply, that's about what I figured. Seeing how it would just be a an occasional "sunny" day driver, that wouldn't be too bad.
