Formuls right? There is no 8 cylinder 4th gen firebird coupes right?

also Firehawks had V8's, but all Firebird's came with V6's...

According to wikipedia, the Firebird from 1993-95was offered with both the 3.4L V6 with 160hp, or the 5.7 liter LT1 V8 engine pushing out 275HP (only non california cars).

1993-1995 L32 3.4L V6 (or) LT1 5.7L V8
199-1997 L36 3.8L V6 (or) LT1 5.7L V8
1998-2002 L36 3.8L V6 (or) LS1 5.7L V8

So to answer the question, all 4th gen (92-02) Firebirds were available with a V8 option, but they were called Formula's or Trans Ams, but they are still Firebirds with a V8.

But it is true that the base model Firebird (the only one with Firebird in it's actually name) only came with either a 3.4L V6 or a 3.6L V6 for the 4th generation

Hope this info helps!

That would be correct it appears.

Firebird - base model which comes with a Series II 3800 3.8L V6 engine rated at 200 HP. Prior to 1996, the standard engine was a 3.4L V6 with 160 HP with the 3.8L being an option in mid-1995. A 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic (4L60E) transmission is available. A performance package (Y87) is also available starting in 1996 which includes a posi rear, rear disc brakes, 3.42 gearing in the A4, exhaust pipes/tips on both sides, and sport steering ratio.

ACTUALLY a formula and firehawk are both firebirds! on their title it will say firebird formula or firebird firehawk The trans am will say trans am and it is the only model that is not a firebird. while a firebird (non formula or firehawk editions) will always be a 6 cylinder
