5 Speed Shifting Problems 1988 Pontiac Fiero?

Hi i have a 5 speed Fiero and no almost nothing bought the manual trans. It gos like this. I get in put the clutch in and start it. now when i try to put it into revers it grinds the clutch is ALL THE WAY IN. then when i try to put it in 1st or any other gear it wont grind but i have to force it in quickly. it use to just slide in. if you know anything on what this is what caused it or how to fix it please share.
I am unsure of how good the clutch it because the day before this started was the day i tough my self how to drive stick and stalled it around 20 times.

Not a good idea to learn on a new clutch. You may have burned it up. Have a regular standard drive it and see what they say.

Sounds like the clutch is shot. Try shifting the tranny with the engine off. If it shifts normal it is the clutch.
