Hello everybody,

I'm all new to this forum so first I'll take some time to introduce myself.
In short I'm Peter, 36 years live in the Netherlands and for fun I own a '81 Corvette (also in my online name) and a '63 Catalina. I own the vette for 15 years or so and the Catalina now 3 years.

When I have the time I'll post some pictures of my Catalina but it's a 2 door, in Aquamarine metallic, inside medium aqua metallic, 389ci 2 barrel with a 3 speed automatic. Seems to have the original paint with interior, not perfect but good for a 50 year old car.

But my question, last year a shop checked my alternator. Alternator seemed fine but the voltage regulator was broken. The problem is that the black connector at the lower back part of the alternator broke so I have a 3 wire connector that I can't connect right now.
My question, does somebody have a picture for the connector that should be on the back of the alternator or where I can order a replacement?
Second. The connector has three wire's. A green? goes tot the A/C pump, a blue one goes into the wiring harness and a long black wire goes to a small round rubberlike connector that isn't connected to anything. I looked up the wiring diagrams for my '63 catalina but the A/C wiring is not included in the diagram, can somebody help me with this. And how know's where the small round black connector should go?
Thanks :)

Greetings Peter

your description of the wiring does not sound correct. Two wires from the alternator go to the regulator and the third wire is the alternator output wire. The alternator wiring does not go to the ac compressor. I have also included a link to a connector but it is two wires. Can you post a picture of the three wire connector and what it is plugged into?

Thanks for the reply.
I think I didn't replain the problem very well.
First I looked at this '63 wiring diagram.
http://pontiacwiring.0catch.com/Pontiac/MWire5765-339.jpg

It shows the alternator has two wires. One is the output wire and the other one is the F wire that goes to the voltage regulator. The alternator has the two wire connector, one wire is the F wire to the regulator and the other wire is cut. Overall the wiring seems to have some repairs to it but the connector on the voltage regulator looks OEM and has two wires in it. Only termanal 2 and 4 are used. Your color wiring diagram shows all 4 terminals on the voltage regulator are used but on mine it sure isn't.

Tomorrow I'll look to take a picture of the three wire connector. It's not part of the alternator but it's only mounted to the lower back of the alternator. One of the three wire's goes to the a/c pump. Could it be the a/c relay was mounted to the back of the alternator?

Greetings Peter
