Just picked up a 1964 Catalina I am the 4th owner. Owner 2 did the old hey I have a buddy that will paint my car when he can get to it. Till the shop got closed and he had to fight to get the car back. Then sold it to owner 3 who had it painted, but it left the old shop with mirror or middle body trim. Now I have to figure out where the factory mirror goes and mounts, without having to sand down the car to find the factory holes or the middle trim.

did you try opening the interior door panel for signs of where the holes were?

does your 64 have the door or front fender mounted mirror? I have seen both on 64's. Post a picture of your mirror it would help.

Hope This Helps

The mirror on my '64 Cat Coupe is door mounted. A prior owner went to great lengths to make sure the one he added duplicated factory specs. He won Best in Show at a POCI event.

Mounting Bracket hole positions:

First Hole: 90 degree intersection of a point 2.5" from the driver's forward door edge and 1.25" inward from the door ridge.

Second Hole: 90 degree intersection moving aft 2.31" of hole one and 1.25" inward from the door ridge.

I'm assuming the mirror and the bracket are OEM. Photos available.
