Just bought a replacement oil pan for my 67 Catalina conv. the oil pan sits really close to the front suspension cross member. Do you have to lift the engine to replace the oil pan or is there a simple way?
No you have to lift the engine a few inches to clear the oil pick up tube and the crossmember. You will probably have to unbolt the transmission also to get enough room to lift it. I would also remove the hood to make it easier.
Why are you changing the oil pan? Holed or rusted out?
