68 firebird, fueling issue

I picked up my fathers mint condition 68 firebird. I went to fuel it and have two issues. The pump doesn't work with the gas intake. When I did get fuel going it spills out from underneath intake. No gas is going in the tank. Help!!!!!!

Is the rubber boot between the filler neck and the tank intact? Or the filler neck could be rusted out. Not sure on the pump/intake issue.

They are both intact. What I did was get a steel funnel with a long gooseneck. Shove the end down the gas intake. Takes about 15 mins but it works.

something is not correct with that set up. You should be able to open the gas door, remove the gas cap, and insert any standard pump nozzle without using a funnel.

Maybe the vent is plugged?
