71 Lemans trunk questions

Hello all,
I'm new to the forum so this may have been posted in the past. I'm working on a 71 Lemans and replaced both quarters skins. The car had work before so it is hard to tell but should the inside of the quarters be painted the color of the car or spatter paint? The quarters removed had spatter but you can tell it was not the original. Also Pontiac use any kind of sound deadner?

Hi and welcome, I wouldn't know but I would love to see pictures of your project.

Inside of the trunk would be spatter paint including the quarter panels. There was no sound deadening on the quarters but the floor of the trunk had a mat.
