72 catalina handle conversion

Hi new here and was wondering if someone could help me. i have a 1972 Catalina that i wanted to change the existing exterior door handle with a push button with loop handle like on a 70 and earlier any information is great thank you

have you physically compared the two handles?
have you attempted to get a copy of the Pontiac parts manual to compare the interior door components for any changes?
isnt the door panel different on the two years the 70 has a depression to insert your fingers below the handle and the 72 is flat?

I have not physically compared the two as I don't know which would be the closest in match and would like to know before purchasing them. I have not been able to locate a manual and the door panel on the 72 has the indentation to get your fingers behind the handle. And i would also like to know if this has been done on this kind of car. Thank you

obviously the correct door handle for a 72 would fit and I have no way of knowing if anybody has ever attempted to install a 70 handle. Try contacting www.frankspontiacparts.com , they may have the answer.
