I've been curious about this for a while now, but are the door panels supposed to have these screws visible?uploadfromtaptalk1398611488981.jpg
Another thing I've noticed is the upholstery on the back bench uploadfromtaptalk1398611582518.jpg is different than on the front uploadfromtaptalk1398611618936.jpg. Does anyone know why that is?

Oh, interesting! About the upholstery, on the back seat, the pattern on the bottom is different than the pattern on the back, while on the front seat, the patterns on the bottom and the back match. I was thinking maybe a previous owner took the bottom part of a seat from another early '70's GM, but I need assistance in confirming that.

a previous owner could have gone to an auto upholstery shop and had them make something up that was close but did not have to exactly match

Agree with Mel , Cloth didnt hold up well back in the day anyway.

Or something spilled on it and they couldn't get the stain out so they had to change the seat cover.White doesnt hide much...........;)

You could ask the original seller/owner..............

Oh okay! I didn't think of that. People have been telling me I should get seat covers to prevent them from ripping anymore, but sometime later on I'd like to get them reupholstered. Should I cover them in the mean time?

guess it depends on your budget and taste if you want to cover them now. They will only rip more if people sit on them.

Plus whats out there aint too great looking ( El Cheapo seat covers nowdays)

A blanket would do....................... or some fleece blankets would be nicer.

White duct tape the rips to keep the cover material intact.

I was wondering if anyone knew what the name of the pattern used in the cloth was called? I came across some 1972 Cadillac upholstery details during my search, and there were different designs one could order, like "Medley Cloth" or "Matador Cloth". I could only find "Cloth and Morrokide" seat for '72 Pontiac's. However, I'm looking for the name of the style. Most all cloth seats in '70's cars had different patterns in a similar fashion. I'm looking to get the seats restored and reupholstered, and I would like an accurate recreation of the pattern used in my car's seats.
