73 LeMans Heater Core - How do you get it out??

Hi all,

I recently picked up a wonderful 73 LeMans with only 25,000 on the clock. The only real problem with it is the heater core is leaking. I'm not exactly handy with a wrench, but I'm learning...fast! Danged if I can figure out how to get this big plastic box out of the way so I can replace the heater core. I removed a few bolts, but it's not moving. I've got the next core ready to go if I can ever get the box out.

Anyone got a few words of wisdom for the new kid on the block?

Thanks. I've got a Haynes manual on the way, but it's taking forever. Looks like I need this, too.

normally you have bolts on each side of the firewall that hold evaporator-heater core box in. however it has been way too many years since I worked on a car as old as yours to remember where all these bolts are

You may be able to download a free copy of Chiltons from your library

If you intend to keep this car buy the factory manual, it is much more detailed than Haynes or Chilton.
