Hello, new here and am in need of alot of info as I got this car in parts and am now putting back together. The bigest problem is the engine compartment. need to know where heater core hoses go, wiring for alt, starter, vacuum lines for carb and auto trans, and canister lines. any help would be great!! I have tryed to look on interenet but have had no luck. Thanks in advance. Douglas

you need to invest in the factory service manual, not Hanes, the Helms Publishing version. In addition try to find copies of High Performance Pontiac magazine.

You can get the 74 service manual on Hitman's site for $30 on CD. His site has been a great help to me in my build. Here is the link to the 74 service manual-

Another valuable source for info is the internet and forums like this one. You will find that somebody somewhere has done the same task you are about to do and they post pictures of it. You will also fine that many enthusiasts are very eager to help you and offer advice. In addition to www.78ta.com, look at www.Transamcountry.com, and www.Firebirdnation.com. Like this site, they are free to join, but are centered around Firebirds only. 78ta and Transamcountry are centered around 2nd generation cars primarily.

I have tryed yo find this manual but am unsuccessful. I am down to finding the vacuum lines on the carb and for the auto trans and the canister. I have found the other stuff out about wiring, starter, etc.....

Thanks
