So I recently acquired my 2nd T/A, a 1975 400/auto Sterling silver with Blue interior. She is not pretty, or in great repair, but once I get her back to my shop (friend in TN is holding her until I can get out there), the plan is to clean her out, repair the few rust areas (under the rear seat), lizardskin her cockpit, then put good carpet down, Walmart cover the seats get her drivable and have fun!

My question to you experts is this, she is missing most of her nose (and the 75 I am finding is year specific both top and bottom), and interior trim. I've been running the books and it seems as though I might be able to make a full resto work, but her original heart is gone, replaced by a 71 400. For some marques, I know that this alone destroys value, and before I got paperwork, I thought she was a different color.
Should I look to redo her, or change to factory options but not what she came with? I know it's my car, and my money, but I probably will not keep her forever, (5+?) before selling her to someone else to enjoy - too many cars I want to enjoy...
Thoughts? I will pretty much need a full interior, are there places who have used, but don't sell every part individually (saw a turned dash but the bezels were sold separately?!) and the nose looks to maybe consume over a grand and still needing work!

well as you already know it's not a matching numbers car. You pretty much can do whatever you want with it keeping in mind you dont what to do anything that will turn off a potential buyer when its time to move on. You can try finding used parts at www.frankspontiacparts.com and aftermarket new at www.amesperf.com .

The nose above the bumper is 74-76, which I have seen around quite often for very reasonable prices. Try Second Gen Graveyard on Facebook, he is great to deal with.

The valance below the bumper is 74-75. 75 valance has delete panels riveted in where the 74 turn signals were mounted, since 75 is the only year with grille mounted turn signals. I am changing to 76 grilles and installing 74 turn signals in my new valance.

A couple places including Texas Trans Am offer re-pop fiberglass valance. That is what I am getting ready to put on my 75 since passenger side mounts broke and now the valance is hanging on that side.

Even a numbers matching restored 75 is not worth the investment sunless you like losing money. The 74-76 cars really do not bring the money the years before and after do. My car is numbers matching but it has not stopped me from changing the car, although I will save all stock parts that come off. Well except the suspension I swapped that went in the trash.
