I recently rebuilt a 77 Trans am Q-jet carb that feeds a rebuild stock 400. Problem, the car starts alright and drives great. however if it sits for longer than ten minutes it leaks fuel into intake flooding the motor. I have repulled and recheck again to ensure correct reinstall during rebuild of carb and adjusted the float along with rechecking for dirt clooging any seats. Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem may be? Thanks Resp,

assuming you set the float correctly, Quadrajets are notorious for having leaking fuel plugs on the bottom of the main body. There are a number of way to correct the problem by either roughing up the plugs and applying a gasoline resisitant epoxy or drilling them out and tapping the holes and then inserting screw plugs with expoxy. You can check on the internet for the fix or there is a book by Cliff Ruggles called "how to rebuild and modify rochester quadrajet carburetors"
