If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hi, my 80 Trans Am with the 301 turbo engine sometimes cuts out and bucks and stalls when slowing down. When it does it the tach bounces from 0 to whatever the rpms should be at the time. I hear the distributors are sometimes to blame for this????? Any info would be great. Thanks, Jason

Sounds like the engine is trying to stall. If you downshift, how does it react?

Is the vapor canister purge valve stuck open? If it is allowing raw fuel in it could be causing an overrich condition.

I have 80 TTA... Mine has a 400 in now though...

Hi, I will check that out. Thanks. And when I downshift it still acts about the same with the sputtering and stalling out. I was told to check the distributor for problems as well.
