82 pontiac firebird performance?

I was wondering what i can really add my 82 firebird to increase its performance. Its a chevy 305 4 barrllel carb. I already plan on putting a new camshaft in and mabye some heads/intake manifold. Is there anything else i can really put on to increase performance?

Your best bet if you really want to increase the performance would be to replece the 305 with a 350 or larger engine, as the 305 IS NOT a performance engine with a small bore and long stroke they are Not good at flowing air/fuel through the engine with small chambers and small valves..
and you can't put a decent set of heads on them to compensate for the poor factory ones ..
if you choose to mod the 305 stay with a mild cam (under .450 lift/ 260dur) and dual plane intake to keep the torque up .. you may be happy with that but don't expect much more than 14/15 sec quarters out of it at best...
