I found a chunk of one of the front sway bar link bushings on my garage floor. I'm planning on changing them and will probably change the sway bar bushings at the same time. The link bushing seems to be urethane, so I'll use urethane. Sway bar bushings are available in rubber or urethane, so I plan to use urethane, too. Good idea?

The car has 40,000 miles on it and drives/handles OK. Should I be thinking about changing other suspension bushings? How long do these things last? I just tool around in it locally, easy driving.

Thanks

Urethane is a good choice for those bushings. You will have to visually check all bushings looking for cracks.

I was also going to change the sway bar bushings, while I've got the car up in the air. I was thinking of using polyurethane for them too. But do the polyurethane bushings squeak after a while? I notice that a tube of grease is included and i have seen postings where they talk about squeaking after a few months.

I was thinking that poly-U would last longer than rubber, but squeaking would be a real pain. this is a show car that doesn't get driven many miles, and just tooling around, at that.
Thanks

I use them and put less than 2k a year on my GTO.

Mel,
Sorry for the confusion, do you use the rubber or the polyurethane?
Thx

I used the poly on the sway bar bushings. Still have rubber on suspension.
