I recently had a 1986 Trans Am fall into my lap. 158,000 miles. Only rust is the inside of the doors, and the bottom of the spare tire housing. It is an automatic with what I believe is a 305 TPI. I am asking for some assistance in where to find seats, doors, headliner, the brackets to hold the t tops in the trunk, and also, what my VIN should say to find out what this TA is supposed to be. People are telling me it isn't a 305 in it, but a 350? also, the inside does not match pictures of an 86 auto with t tops. Thank you for any help. I love trans am, but have only owned 2002 models. This is going to be my first restoration.
