87 pontiac firebird exhaust?

how do you install an 87 pontiac firebird v6 2.l extention exhaust? we have just a standard jack so we only have so much room to work with. we also have a new muffler and tailpipes, but the only trouble were having is getting the extention pipe over the rear axle. what way works best? run the flat part through first that hooks up the the catalyc converter? or do we run the muffler part through the back towards the ass end? you know run it back words? any advice would be great. please help us out!!!

You really need to get the car up off the floor as far as possible , A hoist is usually used to get the exhaust on because of No clearence with the car on the ground ..
removing the rearend (or dropping it down) is also somtimes required to get the exhaust over the back...
