I bought an 87 SE V6 that has been sitting for 6 years under an oak tree.
Its rough looking on the inside but I was told it ran when parked.
I got the car towed home today and have turned the crank clockwise to see if the motor is free. It did turn freely so I need advice what to do next before I hook a battery up to it.
Do I change oil and drain gas tank?
If draining gas, is there a way to unhock gas line at a certain point, hook up battery and let fuel pump do the work of getting the old gas out?
Any right direction would be great.

why would you want the stuff sitting in the tank going through your fuel pump unless you intend to change that too? You have to replace as many fluids as possbile, gas, oil, antifreeze, check condition of brake and clutch fluid and replace if contaminated.

I would be surprised if the fuel pump works at all. I had 2 cars sit only 2 years and the fuel pump failed on both.
Pull the gas tank, most likely you will have to any way.

I was told by a mechanic to pull the fuel line from filter and turn ignition to acc and let fuel pump do the work of pumping out the gas.
Now I am thinking of getting a manuel rubber pump from auto store and do it by siphoning.
I am just trying to see if engine still runs, thats why I am just starting with getting rid of old gas and liquids first before replacing fuel pumps, etc.
Crank on engine turns so I know its not frozen.

You need to jumper the fuel pump relay to get it to run. You can also apply 12 volts to the G terminal in the aldl plug
