Ok don't judge my little 4 speed hatchback, because I actually love this car. I got it for a 900 with 19k miles.(grandma had it forever) Any ways I never have really worked on cars, and I think this would be one I could start with. The other day i was driving up my road (a hill) and had to go in 2nd which was not usual and as soon as i got in the drive and put it in neutral, it stalled out. Then would only start using a lot of gas and wont stay idle. I believe its the fuel filter, but i am having a hard time finding any info on it. any help is appreciated.

It would be surprising that it would need a fuel filter at 19K but anything is possible. Check near the rear of the vehicle, drivers side, close to gas tank. Are there are any warning lights on when the engine is running?

yes, the check engine is on I believe Id have to start it again. Ive been afraid to mess with it.

Check engine light is on, and the previous owner says he put new " new filter pump plugs cap rotor pickup coil ecm tps injector" thats directly from him

Same engine as the 88-91 Pontiac Sunbird, so it shouldnt be too had to hard to figure out what is wrong . (2.0 OHC TBI )

You just need a paper clip to get the code(s).
