I have an 88 pontiac firebird trans am that I got for my husband in Iraq but it needs interior work done. Does any one know what sites are the best places to get seats for a decent price? Also where would I look for carpeting and the screws that keep the panels on? Any suggestions would help and greatly appreciated.
Also it drives pretty good but when it comes to turning the car off u need to put it in neutral first... is that something to be worried about and is it expensive if I need to fix it?

Go to the following sites (and get a catalog besides)

Summit.com (general parts and performance parts)
Year One.com (for replacement parts like carpets, screws, trim etc)
Katskinz.com (for seat covers)

You may want to look up a local upholstery shop.
While you are at it, go to the local speed parts store and ask about a cruise night in your area.
Go there, talk to the people there, they have done what you are thinking of doing. Get some ideas and suggestions.

There is a TV show called "Overhaulin" that customizes cars.See if you can catch it on TV or You Tube.
Just to give you an idea what's involved.

May God be with you good wife and return your husband to you well and soon.
