Hello,My names Mike......newbie with a first post,
Is it possible to order the nylon gear in the headlight moter assembly??? or even order the whole motor assembly? its the only thing not working on this one.
It looks like a bad design to me so I'm sure its a common problem with these cars.also if the parts arn't available what are you guys doing to make the pop up lights work again? I pulled some motors out of a fourth gen and they looked like a much better design I'm sure I can fabricate something to mount them but theres three wires and my old ones only have two so even the plugs are different. I guess as a last resort I can use these if I knew how to wire them in. My first choice would be just to buy the two gears but I'll do whatever it takes to get these working again. Ive been in the rod building and restoring biz for over 35 yrs so I have the fabricating tools and skills I just need to be pointed in the right direction...I cant seem to find anything good at the salvage yards.The GM dealer just laughed like I knew he would but I had to ask...
