91 Firebird overheating issue, please help?

Hey all. Have a 91 firebird, 305 TBI. The problem is the car over heats a lot. The car only overheats during city driving or sitting idleing too long, but when I am driving down the highway its fine. I see the fan isnt kicking on anymore, it used to come on only if i had the AC on, but has since stopped working, any idea on how to fix?

There are two things you need to check .. first make sure the fuses are good for the cooling fan circuit, if they are check the coolant temp sensors, relays and wireing..
if they all check OK the motor is probably bad ..
second.. make sure you have the air dam under the car intact the car will overheat without it (not the front spoiler the one under the radiator support)
