91 Sun LE 2.0 Engine dies hard

Hey guys, I got a 91 Sunbird LE 2.0 and everytime I cut the engine it dies really hard. It makes a chugging sound and cuts off. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with that.

when is the last time the vehicle had a tuneup, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, etc.?

Could be someone wired the cooling fan to the ignition switch or you have alot of carbon on the cylinder head that makes the engine want to keep running.......... "dieseling"

Thanks guys, I thought all it needed was a tune up I bought the car for realllll cheap so it just needs some routine maintenance.

Time to tune it up , put some fuel system cleaner in the tank and take it on the highway and clean it out!
