94 firebird. i think i need to remove the exaust maniflold to get to the right head

gasket.? there is a bracing. its afixed with the alternator above it. i believe its the air conditioning that its supporting into the fanbelt pulley system though. the thing is is that the bracing is in the way of one bolt on the exhaust. Do i really need to remove the exhaust manifold0? and do i need to remove it on both sides? its giving me a headache.

Friend, if you have never taken a head off, you are in for a big surprise! First you have to take off intake and exhaust manifolds and all components attached to both. There is a certain pattern that you use when loosening the bolts and reattaching you have to tork them down to a certain pounds of pressure with a tork wrench. It really isn't a job for a novice.

its hard to visualize what you are saying.. i used a universal when that occurs. on my rachet.. and locate the size with a mirror and flashlight.. if you cant get to it disconnect the exhaust pipe and you can take the head off with the pipe on it ok.
