I have a 95 Grand Am that has a low charge. I need to put more 134a in it but it is so low the compressor will not kick on. I have looked every where for the low pressure swith to jump it to engage the clutch but I can not find it. I know where the port is but I can not find that switch. The accumalator is behind the psg side head light housing just off of the condensor and the the line runs back to the firewall. I can not find this switch on any line. My main problem is that there is a swith on the high pressure side that trips my radiator cooling fan but with little to no pressure the fan will not engage. I had to jump that switch so my car does not overheat. Can any help? Thanks.

Just recharge it through the low side. As the gas goes in the compressor will come on.

95 ga

better make sure u dont need r-12 instead..they didnt start using 134a until 96 ...just a heads up

Well hopefully by now, a month and a half later he has ac. But unless he was using a can side tap with a set of gauges the fittings are different between r12 and r134a.

R134 strated being used in 93. My 95 has 134. Mine would not engage when i bought it a month ago. I just vacuumed out my system since it was so low. I lost over half of the vacuum over a half an hour. So my slow leak was confirmed by that. It took two 12 oz cans to get it going, but took a third to make it cool really good. Now I get 39 degrees out of the vent.
