95 Sunfire GT has some problems that i need help with

My sister-in-law has recently given me and my wife her old sunfire but it has some things that need to get repaired before I can Safety it.
1. There is a hole (about the size of a golf ball) in one of the mufflers
2. the passenger seat won't click in the up-right position it appears that a little plastic piece that locks it in is broken.
3. The wipers only work when you hold the lever up or washing the windshield.
I was hoping I could get some advice on what might be the best ways to solves these problems cheaply since the car is in rough shape and will more or less be a work car.

1. Auto parts store sell muffler patches
2. Go to a dealer or junk yard to get the part.
3. Dont you turn the wipers on by turning the knob at the end of the stalk?

3. Yes but you have to pull bar up for it to work and even then its glichey.

sounds like the whole stalk has to be replaced

ahh yes....the Stalk....I have no idea what that is . Is is easy to do or cheap to get a mechanic to do?

Take the car to a shop and get an estimate.
