• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... 95' sunfire

swap

currently i am doing an engine and trans swap from a 95' 2.2 w/ a 125c to a 2200 w/ a 4t40e. btw, this is my first engine swap....ever. thank goodness for a good ol hayne's manual

Welcome aboard! Thank you for signing up! This engine swap sounds interesting. What's performance going to be like when all is said and done?

honestly i think the gains will be less than 20hp since the block is mostly the same. however it has far fewer miles and obd2 plus i'll have overdrive. of course now that the trans is on its way ive learned it would actually be easier to convert to stick which is what i really wanted.

i dont really know other than it has overdrive. which is a big step up from my 3 speed. haynes manual says it is a more reliable design and takes less maintenance.
