96 Grand Am Climate Control

Hi my daughters 96 grand am climate control only blows cold air. I cannot get it to change from defrost to floor to vents and so on. The switch turns just fine just only blows cool air.The mornings are a bit cold and she has a daughter so i dont want them to be cold. Is there something i should ckeck before pulling and replacing the climate control? If i do pull the climate control how do i get the cable off of the back of it? Please let me know. Thanks

The blend door actuator is not working. I could not find a listing for 96 but in 97 and up it is an electric motor. You would have to determine if power is going to it and if there is then the motor needs to be replaced.

Where and how would i test it? So that would control all of that?

The actuator is under the dash and typically requires partial disassembly of underdash components. Have you looked under the dash near the center of the vehicle? You would test the connection with a voltmeter.
