96 grand am se 3.1L v6 won't start, shift into park, or release ignition key

Motor tries to turn over but will not start. Passlock fix does not help. Replaced ignition switch, no change. Fuses are good, plugs are good, fuel filter changed, fuel pump is working.
The gear shift also sticks periodically when trying to put the car in park and will not release ignition key.
Sorry for a redundant post, but I've been all over the internet looking for info on this and I've not seen the issue resolved with fixes noted to other posts. Any help would be much appreciated, really really need my car running.

Did you do a fuel pressure test? Did you check if you are getting spark at any of the plugs?

Yes

Checked for spark right away, all good there. Have not done a fuel pressure test, that isn't an option right now. We are assuming at this point that it is the fuel pump, fuel pump relay changed and did not improve problem but the motor does start with starting fluid. It does not even try to idle, just immediately dies, but it does turn over for a second.
