You sound like you know exactly what you are doing.

Is there a good ground. If you have power that's only half the battle. Where is the ground for the fuel pump?

You can find a schematic at Auto Zone . com Register for an acount and add your vehicle. They'll have the repair manuals and schematics. Find out what every one of the 9 pins do.

One of them may go to a fuel pump driver module that turns the pump on and off. That could be bad. Fords have fuel pump driver modules.

Does Sunfires have fuel pump shut off switches? Your owners manual might reference them. Again Fords have shut-off switches for accidents. If the car hits a big bump or is in an accident the switch is tripped to stop the fuel pump from pumping fuel after an accident.

Sorry about all the Ford stuff. I don't have time to look up GM I have to run to a birthday party. So just trying to throw some ideas your way.

Good luck
