Hey there im new here but i have a real problem with my 96 Sunfire.
It ran fine Thursday afternoon but when we went to start it friday morning nothing. Key in ignition, turn key and no noise. No solenoid clicking at all ,battery is fine we have tried to jump start and bump start the car to no avail. When we bump started it it tried to start but could not fire. We have checked the battery and it started another car so it apperars to be fully charged. The alternator seems fine as it charged the battery up fully when the car was running. Fuses appear to be fine. Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated.

I would check your grounds, a dirty or broken ground wire would cause your problem.

Using a voltmeter check if you get current at the starter solenoid when you try to start it

sounds like the same thing that happened to our sunfire. We had it towed to a garage and they said it was the ignition switch which they fixed. The car ran for a few days but then the engine died on the highway.Motor will turn over but fuel pump dosen't run. Haven't found the cause of this yet.

check wiring by the ignition. check all your fuses, than all your grounds, if you dont find anything use a voltmeter and touch every fuse on both sides threw the little holes they should all match, if one is negitive and the other positive than the fuse is bad.
after that check your starter, take it out and apply a 12v current to it to see if its firing.
