96 Sunfire Fuel Gauge issue

I have a 96 Sunfire, and the strangest thing has happened, when the fuel gets to about 1/2 tank, the gauge starts moving back to full. It goes all the way past the F mark, would this be a sending unit or could it be it is simply stuck? The fuel gauge seems to work properly until it gets to half. Ay ideas???

Check the ground connection for the tank sending unit, could be corroded.
