I've been leaking coolant for a while, but just started noticing it on the ground. Not much though. It hasn't ran hot. Just had this engine put in a few months ago. So, today, I was feeling around trying to find where it might be leaking from since I can't locate it and doesn't seem to be hose. Wallah! I have no idea what you'd call this though..If you are familiar with this engine is the only way you are going to be able to help me. If you look at the engine head on and see the cover that says 2.4L twin cam. If you go directly behind that, there is a plate down a little below it bolted on by 3 bolts. If you go to the passenger side of that plate and directly under it, there is something bolted on that's just about fist size. I can hold this piece in my hand. I got my camera and reached under there and took a few pics. It is revealed in one of the pics that there is a bolt missing from whatever this piece is! It's soaking wet on this piece. I'm pretty sure this has to be the cause of the leak. It has smelled of antifreeze ever since the new engine was put in, but I never thought too much of it b/c I didn't see it on the ground. Figured it was just spilled or something while putting in. Please help me out here. I am pretty sure it's NOT the water pump. I believe the water pump is lower down. I followed the wires that hook to the overflow that indicates when coolant is low, up under car and it hooks to the back of this part, which I am pretty sure is the water pump. This is NOT the part that I'm talking about. Help? What is it called? I need to call part store and ask if they have proper bolt for this and what pressure I need to tighten. Wouldn't a missing bolt be the culprit? Sounds logical to me.
Here is a picture of the actual part.

Ok, well that link isn't what I thought it would do. Sorry.

Ok, after a little research, I think it IS the water pump, BUT it's a bolt missing! I don't think the pump is bad, just the bolt is not there to make proper seal.
