98 grand am remote car starter

i have a 98 grand am and im trying to get a remote car starter installed but im having problems with the security system. as far as i know there is a passlock 1 security system in the car and i know there are a number of ways to bypass the system so you can use a remote starter but nothing works. i have taken it to two different places with no luck. they spent like 3 full workdays working on trying to get it to work. anyone have any information on this? i need help i really want a remote started but i dunno what to do next. if someone could tell me how to bypass the system or even disable it totally please let me know. any information is appreciated!!

There is a bypass module that you need to bypass the security system.

ok new update. i found a way that i think will work to bypass the system, basically you start the car unplug the connector for the theft system and thats it. i tried it and every time thereafter the car started (with the key) and didn't shut off. but when i unplugged the connector when the car wasn't running and tried starting it it would run for 2 seconds then shut off. the thing is im not sure if i put the remote started system in if it would still work. any comments?
