98 pontiac sunfire engine is jumping and lights flickering?

My 98 Pontiac Sunfire gt's engine is jumping and outside lights and dash ligths are dimming out and the car sometimes just shuts off..............Any suggestions???

when was your last tuneup?nothing can help a poorly tuned engine run except new parts.you cannot diagnose a modern engine without first giving it every advantage to run right.try a scan,but they all say the same thing over and over.no sensor will fix a bad coil or plug.
