I have a 98 Sunfire GT 2.4L I was wondering is there an access door to replace the fuel pump or do you have to drop the tank, also is there a fuel cut-off switch to reset or check before i go replacing the fuel pump. I put a little gas into the throtle body and car ran the cut off. So its a fuel issues..any suggetions is highly appreciated.

1. release the pressure fom fuel system.
2.disconect battery.
3.remove the fuel tank
4.remove connections
5.snap ring pliers the remove the fuel pump assembly
6.yep a whole lot of work. must remove fuel tank.
check the fuel filter first.

i thought my fuel pump was gone but i took it to the shop and there was a wire going from the ignition to the fuel pump they tested it only had like 3v going thru it insted of 12v so the fuel pump wasnt sending enough gas, and it would only run foir a bit when i put gas in the throttle body
