I have a 99 Grand Am SE with the 2.4L 4cyl. Actually, it's my mother in laws, i'm just the one that is her personal mechanic cuz i smooch with her little girl. Anyway, I just replaced 2 busted exhaust valves and put the engine back together and noticed there is a part missing. It's on the front drivers side of the head, mount location is to the right of the intake/throttle body. I have a gasket for it that came with the head gasket kit i ordered from ebay. Someone told me the EGR valve mounts there but the pic of the EGR that the auto parts showed me doesn't match the bolt holes. The only and i mean "only" place i've seen something mounted there was at the local pontiac dealership and there wasn't a name for it. If someone could tell me what the part is called that's mounted there it would make my Christmas, i need to get this car out of my driveway!!

Looking at www.napaonline.com, that looks like the shape for the EGR valve. It appears there are 2 different shapes.

the part is called the "EGR valve apapter", and they don't make em anymore. parts house can't get em, 5 junk yards in town don't have em, so if anyone on here has a junk 2.4L engine with an EGR valve adapter they can sell me pls hook me up because i'm sick of dealing with this car
