99 montana double din install

Hey i'm trying to figure out the easiest and cleanest way to get a double din radio into my 99 montana. I have done a little research and it seams 99 was the only year that used the "great" 1.5 din unit....i really hate these. so my question is has anyone attempted to upgrade the radio bezel in a 99 with the one from a newer montana that does have a double din?? If anyone has was there anything i need to be on the look out for in the install, or is it just a easy swap in job. yes i could just get the 2000 and up pieces and try it but i realy dont have the money to waste on parts that i probably wont be able to return or use. thanks guys!!

Not a stereo expert but it looks like some of the units listed are single Din with a double Din detachable screen

i realy dont like carid because they list all car radios as "universal" wich to a point they are, but they group universal as well it will fit if you make it because its universal and can fit anything if u hack it up enough... I have found a few flip up radios but that is even worse to me than having a single din radio... When it comes to some things im retardedly ocd. if i have the opening i want it filled with radio. not a radio floating in the middle with a adaptor plate taking up the extra space and a big screen flipping up and blocking my vents...florida is hot lol.
