99 Montana-Trouble starting HOT

We have a 1999 Montana and today we had a problem starting it. First it was 90 degrees here today. Started up no problem this afternoon and was driven 1 mile to a gas station and had 20 dollars regular put in, restarted fine and was driven just 1/4 mile to the gym and was left sit for 1 1/2 hour. The engine cranked strong but would not start. We left it there and came back about 4 hours later and it started right up no problem. This is the first time we have had this problem. I am afraid this may happen again, Thanks for your help.
 
Is the check engine light on? Did you check for spark when it wouldnt start? Did you hear the fuel pump engage when it wouldnt start?
 
Since it restarted the service engine light is on. I do not know about the spark or fuel pump. I received a phone call that it would not start and by the time I got to look at it when I got home from work, hours later, is when it started back up.
 
Have the code scanned, autozone does it at no cost.

Surprised that the Fuel Pump is not listed as a possible cure.
