Not quite perfect

Last week I had my fuel pump module replaced, to the tune of over $1k. This morning, my check engine light came on after about 15 miles of driving. I noticed last night that it ran rough for about 5 minutes when I started it when leaving work. After the rough go for a few minutes, everything seemed to be back to normal. Nothing out of the ordinary this morning. I haven't had it taken for a diagnostic test yet, that's tomorrow. Would the recently replaced fuel pump module have anything to do with the check engine light coming on?

It is a long shot as replacing a fuel pump is a rather simple job all though in your case a very, very costly one. Holy cow! Anyways, if the pressure from the pump to the pressure control valve on the fuel injector rail are at odds it may cause a fault. It is also possible that the pump unit was improperly installed and a leak to atmosphere is throwing something off.

A portable diagnostic unit plugged in to your car will give a reading in a jiffy.
