2001 Aztek 127,000 miles.
Battery dead the other morning. When put on charger the A/C blower fan came on. No key in ignition. Got in car and ran the fan speed selector back and forth and the fan turned off. Charged battery, started car, ran for a while. A/C fan working on all speeds. Parked back in garage. Next morning same dead car with blower coming on when started charging battery. Though this time rotating the fan speed selector made no difference.
Disconnected battery and recharged.
Looked online. pulled fuse 25 and ign 3 relay in console fuse panel along with fuse 47 in under hood panel. New ign 3 relay and reconnected everything. As soon as the 40 amp fuse in slot 47 was replaced the fan came back on. Pulled everything back out.
This am battery is dead again. Battery is new.
3 months ago. Recharging. Vehicle starts.
Not sure where to go from here. Hence the post. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Check the fan relay.

Thanks, any idea which one it is?
Under hood panel lists three cooling fan relays:
59Cooling Fan
60Ignition 1 Relay
61Cooling Fan
62Cooling Fan
632000-2003: Air Pump
If they are for the A/C system vs. engine cooling)

Console panel has:
20Rear Defogger Relay
23IGN3 Relay (Ignition Relay)
27Accessory Relay
33Retained Accessory Power Relay
45Back-Up Lamp

Can’t find any clarification online.

Thank you

Maybe disconnect each fan relay until the AC fan shuts off?

The relay is actually part of a combination control module and resistor.

Finally got time to replace the Blower Motor Resistor, so far so good. 🤞🤞🤞
Thanks
