Advice on engine swap

Im new here so i guess this is how it works, just by asking.
I need advice regarding as to which engine would be a good bet for my 1986 fiero... I just bought it a week ago so i dont know much about the car yet, but im willing to learn. To be honest i wouldnt mind an agressive fiero...better the engine the better. So again what is best engine i can get for my fiero and what has to be done? Thanks in advance.

Well that question is hard to answer. The thing is the Fiero is a very versitile platform. Nearly ANY GM engine can be swapped into it (and has).

A simple swap with slightly more power is the 1993-1995 3.4L swap.
For performance the popular swaps are:
3800 supercharged
350 Chevy small block V-8 (I have one in mine)
Cadillac Northstar

Others have also swapped in 3.4 DOHC engines, 4.9L V-8's, Chevy LS series engines, 3800, 3400, 3600, Ecotec, QUAD4's, 4.3L, etc.

The other thing is depending on which engine you chose, Also makes the car feel differently. Example: A SBC V-8 will make it feel like a streetrod. A 3.4DOHC engine will give it a high-reving exotic car feel.

Then there is the transaxles, You have the 4-spd manual, the 5-spd manual, the 6-spd manual (used in G6's), and a multitude of automatic transaxles.

The first thing you need to do is to figure out what you want to use the car for and how much power you want. Then pick an engine that gives you the best of what you are looking for.

I want something that at first glance when its in the garage, people go like...eh..its just an other fiero...till start it and scares the crap out them.. I got a friend, his first project car was a 1990 F150 with a 5L mustang engine with some semi racing mods. He says im wasting my time on this car. I want to prove him wrong. If i can fit V8 would be awesome. Mind if i add ya to my buddy list if happen i have few questions later on?

Go to the V8 Archie link I posted and you will see many V-8 Fiero's.
A 400hp LS2 from a Corvette in a 2600lbs Fiero will be very fast.
I have a ZZ4 350 crate engine and run low 12's with 355hp. There are a couple of Fiero's with LS7 (505hp) V8's that really scream.
