I was coming home late one night, so I turned the radio off.
The next morning I started the car and pressed the power button on the radio.
Nothing happened.
It's an aftermarket dual stereo, and flips open to eject the CD.
It still flips open and will eject cds and even takes them in,
but the stereo still wont light up or turn on.

I'm not big on electronics.
I don't even know how to hook up a system,
so I don't know what is wrong.

I thought it might be a fuse, but i checked the fuses, and none are blown.

what else could it be?

depends...

Can you reach the radio harness? If so, you should be able to figure out which wire goes to "accessory" from the radio's harness. If you don't know which is accessory, google your head unit. Then put a test light on the accessory wire when the key is in the on position. Every after-market radio I've installed had a constant "hot" wire, and an accessory wire that is only hot when the key is on. Because it still ejects the cd, as it would do normally when the car is off, Im pretty sure its going to be that wire that tells it to wake up and play
If you can NOT access the harness, find someone who knows that kinda stuff, they will be able to tell you whats wrong. Sometimes if your nice and respectable, and the place isn't busy, the guys at some stereo installation stores will try to help you out for free (about 40% of the time). When you come across one that says "We don't touch anything unless we put it in", just turn around and leave, not worth wasting your time or money for something that simple.

Thanks man

I'm gonna try to get behind it and see.
I'm pretty sure I can get a hold of a tester.
There's a local shop that might do it for me for free.

Thanks again for the info.

If your still having this problem, check the interior lighting fuse, its on the same circuit as the radio.
